Born and bred in Essex, Alistair gained a Business Studies and French Degree and started his career in a small, Heathrow based packing company in 1985. This growing business was acquired by The Tuplin Group in 1989 where Alistair flourished as Sales Manager. Within a couple of years he was promoted to Sales Director, a role where he drove operations in Southall, Crawley, Isle of Wight, Southampton and Stansted.
Alistair’s core skills have led the company’s development and expansion into new markets and sectors – challenges he relishes. 5 years ago he finalised a management buy out to take control of the entire group as Peter Tuplin, the previous owner headed into retirement.
Alistair and his team have never looked back as he continued to spearhead growth in all areas of the company including a 20% increase in business in 2012 alone. He has travelled to many destinations worldwide to organise projects on behalf of our clients. Work connected with Airbus Industries has also taken him regularly back to his university town of Toulouse keeping his French fluent and his love of food and wine satisfied!
Alistair’s passion, determination and drive to provide a continuously high level of service to customers continue to propel Tuplin forward. He is supported by his wife Lisa, who works within the company and his three teenage daughters – who maybe one day will follow in his footsteps.
He enjoys most sports, especially horse racing and is a keen runner. So much so that he hopes to complete a gruelling 5 day run along part of the Great Wall of China next Spring to raise money for St Catherine’s Hospice!
